CRYOTHERAPY

What Is Cryotherapy?

Precision freezing for clean, confident skin—without the fuss

Cryotherapy uses controlled freezing to remove unwanted skin imperfections quickly and effectively. We apply extreme cold directly to the targeted area—whether that's a skin tag, age spot, or other benign lesion—causing the cells to break down and naturally shed over the following days.

It's precise, it's fast, and it gets the job done without disrupting your day. Most treatments take just minutes, with minimal discomfort and no need for downtime.

  • What to expect

    During treatment

Monique applies liquid nitrogen directly to the lesion using a precision applicator. You'll feel intense cold for a few seconds, some describe it as a sharp, stinging sensation that quickly passes. The whole process typically takes just 5-10 minutes depending on how many areas we're treating.

    Immediately after

The treated area will turn white initially, then red. You might notice some swelling or feel a mild burning sensation for a few hours. This is all completely normal and shows the treatment is working.

    The healing process

Over the next 24-48 hours, the area may blister or form a scab. Don't pick at it, let it do its thing. The lesion will darken and eventually fall off naturally within 1-3 weeks, revealing fresh, clear skin underneath. Pigmented lesions may take slightly longer to fade completely.

Some stubborn lesions might need a second treatment to fully clear. We'll assess this at your follow-up.

    Aftercare

Keep the area clean and dry. Avoid picking or scratching. If a blister forms, leave it intact, it's protecting the healing skin underneath. Once healed, use SPF religiously to protect the new skin and prevent pigmentation from returning.

  • Is cryotherapy right for you?

Cryotherapy is ideal if you're looking for a straight forward solution to remove benign skin lesions without surgery, lengthy recovery times, or significant discomfort.

    You're a good candidate if:

    • You have benign skin tags, age spots, warts, or other superficial lesions
    • You want quick treatment with minimal disruption to your routine
    • You're comfortable with a brief healing period involving potential blistering
    • You're prepared to protect treated areas from sun exposure during healing

This might not be for you if:

    • The lesion hasn't been assessed by a medical professional
    • You have a history of keloid scarring or poor wound healing
    • The area is on particularly sensitive or delicate skin (we'll assess this in consultation)
    • You're looking to treat active acne or other inflammatory skin conditions

Our approach: We assess every lesion carefully before treatment. If we have any concerns about what we're looking at, we'll refer you to a dermatologist for evaluation. We'd rather be cautious than hasty.
